OctaTrap – covers 21 m² of riverbed

The OctaTrap is a giant HDPE octagon that sits on the riverbed. It covers 21 square metres – that is huge. Eels and other bottom fish swim under, enter through 50+ bottom‑facing holes, and collect in the central net.

Why 21 m² matters
Traditional nets cover 1–2 m². OctaTrap covers 10 times more. Fish do not have to aim for a small opening – they encounter the trap from any direction.
